There’s something timeless about love - it doesn’t matter if you’re in your 20s or your 50s, romance never loses its magic. Jeremy wanted to make sure his proposal to Kim was not only memorable but deeply romantic. And what better place to do it than Ironwoods Beach on Maui’s west side, a spot known for dramatic cliffs, beautiful sunsets, and quiet corners perfect for intimate moments.
Before the proposal day, Jeremy and I went over every detail. I even created a map showing exactly where we’d meet, and we stayed in touch by text to keep the plan seamless. I arrived about 10 minutes early to settle in and blend into the scene, pretending to be just another beachgoer while keeping my camera in a bag.
After she said “yes!”, we wandered along Ironwoods Beach for engagement portraits. This beach is one of my favorites because it offers so much variety - white sand, lava rock cliffs, and ocean backdrops that look straight out of a dream. Their photos turned out soulful, natural, and full of emotion.
One of the questions I often get is: “How do I convince my partner to dress nicely for a simple beach walk?” Here’s a little trick: I suggest telling them you’re going out to dinner at a nice restaurant afterward.
